Patient safety during the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak

We recognize that the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is top of mind across the country and with our patients. In response, we want to assure you that the health and safety of our patients, healthcare providers and staff are our top priority. We are closely monitoring the situation and like many others, are following the advice of the Center for Disease and Prevention (CDC) and the Florida Department of Health Services (DHS) to determine any adjustments that we may need to be taken regarding how we serve our patients.

At this time, our offices will remain open to serve patients as regularly scheduled. Rest assured, we are taking extra infection control precautions. As an added measure, all exam rooms and high-touch surfaces are being disinfected continuously. We have also reiterated the importance of effective hand hygiene with all of our health care providers and staff. Further, we have instructed our staff to stay home if they are experiencing any illness.

Patients with Upcoming Appointments

If you have a scheduled appointment, we request that you limit the number of people who attend with you to only those needed to assist you during your appointment or to accommodate transportation needs. Limiting the number of guests will assist with social distancing recommendations provided by the CDC.

For the safety of our patients and staff, if you are experiencing a fever, cough or shortness of breath, or have been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient within the past 14 days or have traveled to any high risk areas in the past 14 days, we MUST reschedule your appointment for a future date. A note to Higher Risk Patients

As the Coronavirus continues to spread, we want to protect and safeguard our most vulnerable patients – patients 65 years of age and older and people with compromised immune systems or serious chronic medical conditions like heart disease, diabetes and lung disease. This includes patients with cancer, organ transplant, immune deficiency and those on medication that suppresses their immune system.

Patients 65 years of age and older and higher-risk patients should consider rescheduling any non-urgent visits to a later date.
